SELEMIX systems prove compliance with Eurofins' indoor air quality requirements

We are proud to announce that Selemix key coating systems have achieved internationally recognised product certifications from global scientific testing leader, Eurofins.

Offering highly sought-after properties and exceptional performance, Selemix systems cover a wide variety of light industrial uses. Now, with the addition of Eurofins accreditations to prove compliance with indoor air quality requirements, the newly certified systems can be used over construction elements which are employed in indoor environments like public or industrial buildings with confidence.

Eurofins conducts rigorous testing and inspection processes that include both products and manufacturing facilities. This is to ensure that all legal specifications related to volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions set by the European Union (EU) and its member states are met and a healthy indoor air environment is created.

Selemix 7-159 Direct Pro 2K Acrylic Topcoat High Gloss and 7-533 2K Polyurethane Direct Topcoat 30 GU have been awarded the ‘Indoor Air Comfort’ certification, demonstrating that both products satisfy European low VOC requirements.

Meeting even more stringent criteria, including voluntary specifications set by ecolabels, Selemix 8-11X WB Single Stage achieved the higher level ‘Indoor Air Comfort GOLD’ certification. This accreditation demonstrates a best-in-class product in terms of low emissions and indoor air quality.

“It’s a big achievement to receive ‘Indoor Air Comfort’ and ‘Indoor Air Comfort GOLD certifications’”, explains Rita Minardi, senior product manager LIC, for PPG Refinish EMEA. “The ‘seal of approval’ from Eurofins marks a step forward for the Selemix brand in terms of quality assurance, buyer confidence and new business opportunities, and sets us apart from our competitors in that area.”

The certified Selemix systems are suitable for use in many light industrial indoor applications, such as PVC window frames, glass, constructional steel, house fitting or welfare cabins. Thanks to their specific performance characteristics, including excellent anti-corrosion resistance and good adhesion to a variety of substrates, products 7-159, 7-53X and 8-11X open the door to new paint job opportunities that cannot be covered by standard interior paints.

In public spaces where a healthy indoor environment is key, paints are required to fulfil specific requirements relating to air quality. Eurofins ‘Indoor Air Comfort’ and ‘Indoor Air Comfort GOLD’ certifications demonstrate that these Selemix products are a safe, compliant and reliable choice for use on surfaces in public areas and buildings.

Selemix products and systems are well-known for delivering high quality and performance, so we’re incredibly proud to be able to demonstrate our commitment to a healthier environment, too,” finishes Minardi.
